My AdvoCare Journey!

I'm proud to say that I'm an AdvoCare Champion! I'm loving it! It's a cleanse that helps you start a healthier lifestyle! It's amazing how much better you feel when you no longer eat empty calories, you don't skip meals, and you see results quickly!

Whenever I tell people about AdvoCare or of my success I get the typical response of "cleanses aren't good for you" or "you've just lost water weight". Well water weight or not- I'm down 10 pounds on Day 11 of 24 and that's more than I've ever lost by just working out and eating right. I've learned to be so much more aware of what I'm putting into my body. I feel great, I'm motivated and I look forward to stepping on the scale or measuring my inches!

I will admit the first few days were HARD. I was fighting a cold and learning to adapt to this new lifestyle and I wasn't sure I was going to make it. But each day it just gets better and so worth it! I can't believe I only have 14 days left! I'm excited to see the very end result.

There are so many foods that I will never look at the same. In fact, it almost grosses me out to see people eating certain things because this alert is going off in my head saying "Bad! Bad! Bad! Don't eat that!". I'm embarrassed to admit it- But I secretly imagine myself reaching over and snatching it out of their hand and saving them from what they're about to do to themselves!

I want to thank my friend Misha for introducing me to AdvoCare and sharing the "wealth"! Thanks for always being there to cheer me on, answering all my questions and getting excited to hear my results!
Thanks to Austin for letting me try ANOTHER one of my get "swim suit ready" plans. Trust me. There's been many. And for supporting me every step of the way in my journey! He has been encouraging, helpful and always excited for me when I tell him my results! He has BBQ'd countless pieces of chicken for me, made healthy dinners for both of us every single night and has become an apple slicing PRO! LOVE him for all of that!

It truly helps to have people excited for you and to hear their encouragement!
I hope to help other people change their lives for the better and become AdvoCare Champions!

The Mood Swings of A True Fan

On New Years Eve Day the Utah Utes played in the Orange Bowl.
I couldn't help but snap pictures of Austin's mood swings during the game.

Not playing so well...

Contemplating the game.
And no that is not a barf bowl in case the Utes lose.
That is simply the bowl which he chose to spit his sunflower seeds in.

Its a close game...

TOUCH DOWN!!

Complete focus.

And as Austin would put it.. That's a 'W' for the Utes!

And here's me. Just patiently waiting for the Utes to win!

Good Job Utes!
Thank you for winning the game for many reasons.
But mostly, so I didn't have to deal with a grumpy husband the rest of the day!
GO UTES!

Twenty Twelve

For New Years, we decided last minute to go to Las Vegas!
Our neighbors graciously watched our little Gracie for us and off we went!
It was so fun to have Austin all to myself! We rarely get to go somewhere just the two of us!

We shopped for hours, gambled, hung out, watched the fireworks, ate at the M Buffet and just had fun catching up!

On December 31st, 2009 Austin proposed at the restaurant "Top of the World" which is on top of the stratosphere. I love being able to spend New Years in Vegas. It brings back so many memories!

Some of our Goals for 2012:

1. Fitness.
I get that this goal is total cliche but so far we're sticking to it! Austin can't do as much as I can because he has school but we've definitely have been eating better together!
Thanks to some wonderful friends in my life, I've been able to reach my fitness goals faster than I thought! Whitney and I go to  Zumba multiple times weekly and just recently I started this product called Advocare thanks to my friend Misha!
I hope I have amazing results like she has!

2.Cook more dinners.
Austin is pretty dang good about this already. If I don't make dinner he is always willing to step up to the plate and whip something up.
Me on the other hand... I don't exactly enjoy cooking. I don't think its fun at all. I dread it.
BUT- Thanks to Pinterest, I've been trying to make dinner every night (except weekends).
I think Austin has been enjoying it!

3. Survive the last year of Grad School.
Starting in May Austin will be done with class work! He will be doing rotations instead of going to class and figuring out what he'd like to do with his Pharmacy Doctorate Degree. He will also be studying for his boards so that in May 2013 he can pass with flying colors!

4. Friends
Stop putting effort into friendships and relationships that are one sided.
Surrounding ourselves with people who are uplifting, trustworthy, selfless, honest and who care about us as much as we care about them. People who make you want to be better.
True friends who are there for you no matter what.
As much as we want to continue finding friends like this, we want TO BE friends like this!

2012.. We're ready for you!

Wrapping Up 2011...

I thought I should wrap up 2011 and start fresh in 2012!
These pictures were for our Christmas Card! I love how they turned out! Even though it was a little windy and it kept blowing our "Merry Christmas" sign everywhere!

This year, I convinced Austin to put Christmas lights up! He did such a good job! I LOVED them!  Maybe next year I'll convince him to do the top level too??? I might have to pull out some major negotiating skills for that one!

As a fundraiser the scouts sold these luminaries. I wish I would've taken a picture of the whole neighborhood. It was so pretty to see all the sidewalks and driveway lit with these luminaries!

This Christmas Austin did the 12 days of Christmas for me. Each day I received a stocking with a gift! It was so fun to see what he came up with! I got clothes, accessories, books, etc. But on Christmas Eve which was the 11th day of Christmas I opened this beauty! The Sony Nex 5! I had always wanted a fancy camera but didn't want the huge bulky ones that need their own separate purse! One purse is enough for this girl! Austin did his research and found this compact camera made by Sony was the best compact camera on the market! I love that its small enough to fit in the purse I carry daily but fancy enough to be able to switch lenses and take remarkable pictures!

On the 12th day of Christmas I got another lens for my camera! I'm so in love with it!
Man he spoiled me this year! I can't wait to take great pictures of him at Graduation! Which is officially in ONE year! 2013 baby!!

On Christmas Eve, We eat together, play games and open presents with the grandparents.
The kids finally got an xbox and kinect! They wanted one so bad!

I couldn't wait to give Austin and Gracie their stockings. So Santa brought them on Christmas Eve!
Obviously Gracie didn't like the idea of posing with her stocking...

Christmas Morning started at 6 am! We have a tradition of opening all our presents together. So now that we're all married, we bring all our presents to Amanda's so Santa can bring her kids their presents and the adults can open their presents together! Its so fun to see what everyone's spouses got each other!
Ashlee made Justin this quilt out of all his old band shirts! It looked so great and he LOVED it!

Nan and Brady has us this year. Brady made us this U of U sign for our Door! We LOVE it!
GO UTES!

I must give myself Kudos for this year. I did such a good job on Austin's presents. He was totally surprised and we didn't have 1 return! Woot Woot!

Austin was SHOCKED that I got him the RayBan sunglasses he had wanted. I was totally sneaky and had him go into Sunglass Hut right before Christmas when we were at the mall. I had him try on RayBans and had the sales girl write down the number. Little did he know, his pair were already wrapped under the tree!

Whenever we watch the show Wipe Out, Austin always says... They pick the most un-athletic people to be on that show. Which he follows with- I could dominate that course. I'd be so good at it.
Well I got him the Wipe Out Kinect game. Lets see your skills Aust!

Only good things come in Cabela boxes!

A fishing bag to carry all his fly fishing gear!

Austin LOVES Man vs Wild...

So I got him the XBox game!

No more using the wife's pink Adidas bag!

So during football season, I let Austin borrow my favorite gloves for the Utah game. Well I never saw them again after that. So I bought him his own!

Brand New Football gloves. I think he was surprised I picked out good ones!
He better catch every pass with those sticky gloves!

My mom's ornament from Amanda!

My dad built the kids a tether ball pole!

After opening gifts with my family, we went up to the Nabor's to open more gifts!
Bart got his new sweet headphones and Andria got her usual new purse for Christmas!

Deb and Steve got me the sparkly Uggs I've wanted so bad!

Austin is a really good fly fisherman. And Steve says its because of the rod Austin has. Well we got Steve the same rod as Austin. Game on Steve!

Merry Christmas from Austin, Christee and Gracie!
